The Department of Emergency Medicine (EM) of the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons is seeking a board-certified Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) physician for an exciting leadership opportunity as Division Chief and Vice Chair of PEM to join the executive leadership team. This position will report directly to the Chair of EM and serve as the academic leader for a division of over 30 physicians to provide outstanding emergency care for pediatric patients in the New York City metro area and to provide vision for the education and research missions.
The chief will enthusiastically work towards leading a division that is nationally recognized for its clinical, education, and research excellence. We are seeking visionary candidates with strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across the organization with an ability to engage, inspire, and promote excellence within the division. Successful applicants will be considered for appointment at the Associate or Professor level and must have a minimum of 3 years leadership experience in an academic Pediatric Emergency Department.
The Alexandra & Steven Cohen Pediatric Emergency Department at the NewYork-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital includes an ACS accredited Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and provides comprehensive emergency care with an annual census of ~54,000 patients. Faculty supervise fellows in our highly competitive fellowships in Pediatric EM and Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound, emergency medicine and pediatric residents, other rotating residents, and medical students.
