Gynecology Oncology - Research Director and Clinical Faculty

The Rush University Cancer Center at Rush University Medical Center is seeking two Gynecologic Oncologists to join its team, one as a Research Director, Gynecologic Oncology and another as a Clinical Faculty member at the assistant professor level or above. Candidates should be subspecialty trained and board eligible/certified in Gynecologic Oncology. Responsibilities for these full-time positions will encompass those of clinician, educator, and academician. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior ability in patient care, established research, and excellent training. It is expected that the role of Research Director will work with the institutional support in place to establish a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology.
Gynecologic Oncologists at Rush provide compassionate care for women seeking diagnosis, treatment and second opinions for Cervical, Ovarian, Uterine, Endometrial, Vaginal and Vulvar cancer. They collaborate across the institution with specialists to combat cancer and promote quality of life. They support outreach to underserved women and are initiating the lead in Chicago, in collaboration with Equal Hope (non-for-profit), to eradicate cervical cancer, this is the first in the nation. Women treated at Rush receive personalized, comprehensive treatment plans. They also have access to cancer support services, such as the Cancer Integrative Medicine Program.
As a principal member of the National Cancer Institute’s Gynecologic Oncology Group, Rush is at the leading edge of gynecologic cancer care and research, offering the latest treatments including innovative drug and radiation therapies via clinical trials and da Vinci robotic surgery as well as exploring ways to detect cancers in their earliest stages. In fact, Rush is one of the highest accruing members to National Cancer Institute’s NRG.
Our new, state-of-the-art Cancer Center facility in Chicago will serve as a hub for services throughout our health system. Our core programs are supported by multi-disciplinary teams from medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, research and bioinformatics, clinical operations, and dedicated clinical and support staff, including patient navigators. This structure allows specialists to more easily consult and see patients based on tumor type or molecular and genomic signatures, combining our outstanding multidisciplinary approach with a data infrastructure that supports this patient-centered care. This integration enables us to make a greater commitment to research, dramatically scaling the effectiveness of clinical trials, and enabling translational research that moves bench to bedside, and bedside to bench.
