Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers and ranked by U.S. News & World Report announces a search for the Chair of General Pediatrics. The Chair would oversee active programs in complex care, care-path design, outreach, and in particular development of Pediatric Population Management Care Models in addition to a large general pediatrics practice.
Primary responsibility will be to maximize the clinical, educational and research potential of our primary care Pediatricians, including, a focus on pediatric clinical excellence, process improvement, faculty professional development, practice growth, patient and provider satisfaction, community engagement, patient centered medical home accreditation, pediatric medical neighborhood alignment, and the integration of teaching, research and scholarship within a clinical practice setting. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. This leader will administratively report to the Associate Chief of Clinical Operations of Cleveland Clinic Community Care.
The department scope includes 92 physicians, 20 Advanced practice providers, who provide over 260,000 visits yearly to 109,000 unique patients in over 25 practice locations. Programs include innovations in Population health care model design, school-based health care, complex care clinics, Healthy Living programs and parent/family-centered care.
Applicants should have an excellent record of clinical experience, teaching and scholarship with experience in leadership, administrative skills, mentoring of faculty, residents and medical students and program development. The successful candidate will be a proven leader with experience working within a clinically integrated network and a demonstrated ability to engage multidisciplinary teams. Certification by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics and eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio is required.
The Department of General Pediatrics is a part of Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital which is consistently ranked as one of the best in the United States by US News &World Report and has 429 staffed beds, of which 121 are on the main campus, 25 in our Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation, and 283 in 5 other satellite hospitals across Northeast Ohio. Our staff includes more than 300 physicians in 55 pediatric medical and surgical specialties providing over 800,000 outpatient visits, 17,000 inpatient admissions, 11,000 surgeries, and accepting over 1,400 transports per year.
