Children’s National is seeking to hire a board certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to function independently as a clinician performing initial evaluations and follow ups on our inpatient Consult-Liaison service. This person should be able to: 1) perform consults on people after overdoses, 2) lead multidisciplinary team meetings around placement and other psychosocial issues, 3) evaluate patients with eating disorders, 4) evaluate patients with somatic symptom and related disorders, possible first break psychosis, substance abuse, developmental conditions, mood disorders and anxiety disorders, 5) identify psychiatric symptoms due to medications and/or primary medical illness, 6) identify appropriate psychotropic medications for patients on our service, and 7) work as a liaison between other medical and psychiatric teams. This person will report to the Medical Director of Psychiatry CL service Dr. Kierre Nelson.
