Heartland Women's Healthcare is currently seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our independent OB/GYN practice.
The certified nurse-midwife provides a full range of women’s health care services from adolescence beyond menopause. These services include well-women care, gynecologic and family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum period.
Midwives provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. They conduct physical examinations; prescribe medications including controlled substances, and contraceptive methods; admit, manage, and discharge patients; order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests and order the use of medical devices. Midwifery care also includes health promotion, disease prevention, and individualized wellness education and counseling. These services are provided in partnership with women and families.
Our practice likes to take an innovative approach to women's healthcare. We are looking for a certified nurse-midwife that will embrace an innovative environment and help facilitate effective healthcare models that provide the best patient experience.
We want to expand our midwifery program so we can better accommodate low risk obstetric care. We will work to develop a Centering Pregnancy Program. Centering Pregnancy is changing the way women receive their prenatal care. We look for certified nurse-midwives that embrace this patient experience and want to help the practice implement this model of care within the practice.
To qualify for this position you must possess a Graduate degree with completion of a Midwifery Education Program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) and pass a national certification examination administered by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) to receive the professional designation of Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM).
