Description Clinical Research Navigator 1 - VICTR Your Role Seeking individual with clinical research knowledge and experience to join our clinical research support services team. The team and its responsibilities have expanded in response to eStar implementation and centralized support initiatives, to meet the needs of the Vanderbilt research community. Clinical Research Fiscal Support Services (CRFSS) provides support services to research teams related to the eSmart application and its integration with eStar (Epic), e-Star research process support, education and training, and supports eStar and Vanderbilt Health Connect security access for researchers and their teams. The team also: provides assistance with budget development and negotiation and research reconciliation for research patient care billing; contributes to content, processes and testing of researcher-oriented software improvements (eSmart, eStar); manages just-in-time reminders aimed at improving compliance with eSMART, eStar billing and research documentation requirements; and provides other related services. Team members collaborate as a team and with the Department of Finance Clinical Trials Billing Compliance team, the Vanderbilt Coordinating Center, Health IT and Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center, Institutional Review Board, Office of Contracts Management and others, to design new and optimize existing processes and workflows and to assist research staff in understanding and applying financial and billing best practices for clinical trials. In collaboration with the VU Human Research Protections Program, the Clinical Research Navigator I assists with the optimal application of the Federal, State, and local laws, guidance documents, VU Institutional policies, and Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures while meeting the objectives of the VU research community. Consults on complex research and regulatory issues in conjunction with the team(s) to identify solutions and develop improvement processes. The Clinical Research Navigator I researches topics of departmental, institutional or strategic importance.
