Search for the Vice President of Technology and Innovation
Children’s Hospital & Medical Center (Children’s) is seeking a dynamic, innovative and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Vice President of Technology and Innovation. The Vice President will join Children’s, the only full-service pediatric health care center in Nebraska, at an exciting time and will be instrumental in achieving its mission to improve the life of every child through exceptional care, advocacy, research, and education. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and CIO, the incoming Vice President will look for ways to elevate Children’s operational effectiveness, competitive position, and growth strategy. This leader will serve as a strategist and operational leader to deliver upon the promise of an exceptional patient experience.
Children’s is a vibrant, cutting-edge acute-care 145 bed hospital and affiliated entities that serves children from across a five-state area and around the world. Children’s provided care to more than 139,000 unique children in 2020, resulting in 575,730 patient visits. The safe, high-quality care provided at Children’s has been nationally recognized and affirmed again and again. They have been honored with Magnet® Recognition—the gold standard of nursing excellence—four consecutive times. Both the NICU and PICU teams have received the prestigious Gold Beacon Award of Excellence for exceptional patient outcomes. The Vice President of Technology and Innovation will be joining Children’s as it has begun an exciting new chapter in its story after the completion of a campus-doubling expansion and the arrival of a visionary new president and CEO, Chanda Chacón MPH, FACHE in September 2020. The Hubbard Center for Children, a state-of-the-art clinical facility opened in September 2021. Founded by the community, for the community, Children’s Hospital & Medical Center continues to honor the legacy of its founders, innovating, evolving, and expanding in order to meet the medical needs of the region’s children. Children’s entered a 10-year strategic partnership with Philips Company in 2017 to implement technologies in standardizing pediatric care across departments and to drive innovation. Together, they are identifying opportunities to enhance the quality and cost effectiveness of patient services, including focusing on connected solutions in diagnostic imaging, patient monitoring, respiratory solutions, and clinical informatics.
The Vice President of Technology and Innovation will think both ambitiously and strategically about how to meet the needs of Children’s today and Children’s of the future.
