This unique opportunity involves working closely with a physician assistant who sees most return and acute visits, oversees food and drug challenges and helps to supervise allergy immunotherapy. The vision and mission of the practice is to continue to provide exceptional and excellent care for both our pediatric and adult patients with asthma, allergic diseases and immunologic disorders.
There is close collaboration with 7 other allergist/immunologists and 2 Physician Assistants throughout the Geisinger System in the central and Northeastern Pennsylvania area who will share call, interact and meet regularly through e-mail and televideo. There are multiple primary care and subspecialist physicians in the Western region who are a rich source of referrals. Local hospitals include the Mount Nittany Medical Center as well as Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Hershey Medical Center and University of Pittsburgh are major tertiary referral centers.
State College in western Pennsylvania is a diverse family friendly, low crime city and the home of The Pennsylvania State University. It has many big city amenities in a rural location. The area offers BIG 10 sports, arts and culture, excellent restaurants, highly rated public school district and easy access to hiking, biking trails, lakes for fishing, boating and other outdoor activities. It is within a 2-3 hour drive to the Hershey/Harrisburg area as well as Pittsburgh; excellent cities with multiple big city amenities.
