ChristianaCare is currently seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager for our NICU at Christiana Hospital. In this role, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assist in the clinical and administrative activities of the department in order to ensure patients the provision of quality care.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervises all nursing and technical personnel: Assesses competency of staff, oversees daily staffing and scheduling needs of department, evaluate staff performance, counsel/coach staff member as needed.
- Participates in hiring, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Functions as role model, demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors.
- Directs, mentors and supports all levels of staff.
- Develops, implements and monitors performance improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Identifies and develops strategies to improve the overall knowledge base and professionalism of staff.
- Analyzes administrative and operational functions; implements appropriate changes and system wide improvements.
Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Nursing required. Master's degree in Nursing required or must commit to obtaining within 5 years from date of hire. Five years' appropriate clinical experience in nursing required. Previous experience working in the NICU preferred. Leadership experience preferred. Appropriate clinical certification required.
Hours:
This position is primarily working a Day/Midnight rotation, 8 hour shifts. Weekend rotation based on department needs required.
