Job Summary:

The team member's first responsibility is to truly understand the needs of the women that we serve.  By doing so, we can provide personal attention, education, clinical expertise, and support to women through every age and every stage of life.  We strive to deliver an outstanding experience to our patients to position the organization as the women’s healthcare provider of choice and the employer of choice in the market.  

Other Functions:

• Knowledgeable on professional care theories, principles, practices, standards, and procedures to provide comprehensive care to healthy women and/or their babies in a variety of settings to include obstetrical antepartum or intrapartum management, postpartum care, and gynecologic care.

• Collaborate with the physician(s), nurse practitioner(s) and certified nurse midwife(s) in the health care/education/treatment plans of Obstetrics and Gynecology patients to include full obstetrical care, labor and childbirth, annual physicals/health assessments and preventative care.  
• Ensures compliance with standards of nursing care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment facility.

• Documents all contact with patients using standard tools and established policies/procedures.
• Maintains effective communication with patients, physicians, other professional staff, other business associates and healthcare partners.
• Maintains knowledge of current clinical standards of care and related advances in Obstetrics and Women’s Health

Additional Qualifications:

• Education: Master's degree in Nurse Midwifery required.
• Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner preferred but not required.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year experience
• Licensure/Certifications/Registration: Current Virginia Nurse Midwife, current DEA or eligible for licensure
• Language: Spanish preferred but not required

• 4-day work week
• No weekend or night call
• 50/50 Mix of GYN and Obstetrics

• Ability to travel between Woodbridge and Lorton Locations
• Collaborative team 2-GYN Physicians, 6 OB/GYN Physicians, 2 CNMs (recruiting to move to 3 CNM’s) and 3 NPs
