The Infectious Diseases Division at Cincinnati Children's Hospital seeks an outstanding investigator working in the area of Microbial Pathogenesis relevant to childhood infections. This position is open for qualified applicants at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. Important childhood pathogens may include Respiratory syncytial virus, influenza virus, HIV, TB, malaria, Staph aureus, streptococcal infections, fungal infections, resistant bacterial pathogens, childhood diarrheal pathogens, and a variety of others. Individuals working on microbes for which vaccine development remains a priority are preferred. The individual will join a team of investigators working in the area of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of pediatric infections, including a strong clinical trials group focused on novel vaccine development and testing. We seek an individual with a basic laboratory programs that will synergize with the clinical mission, and whose work will lead to the development of new treatments and preventive measures to improve child health. Opportunities are ideal at Cincinnati Children's to work across clinical and basic science divisions and to translate basic laboratory findings into clinical interventions.
Qualified applicants will have a PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent advanced degree
