JOB SUMMARY:

Coordinates research projects in health services research, public health, epidemiology, medicine, health policy or related disciplines under occasional guidance. Utilizes intermediate level research skills to perform a variety of research and operations-related activities including data management, report preparation, and management of project budgets and schedules for proposals and projects.

Department Summary:

The Department of Neurology boasts a strong research portfolio across its subspecialties. Faculty members are regular contributors to scientific journals and receive generous funding from public, private, and government institutions. Grants and contracts are growing, and faculty members are focused on recruiting and supporting clinical and translational research programs focused on precision in diagnosis and treatment. These research activities provide patients with hosts of opportunities to participate in clinical trials and other investigations aimed at improving quality of life and ultimately changing the course of neurological disease. Total sponsored research in the department has doubled since 2016, and there has been a three-fold increase in clinical trials in recent years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides program management for project activities. Performs tasks related to the execution and operations of project.
• Fosters collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the project team. Maintains communication across project teams.
• Uses quantitative and qualitative research skills to participate in the design, coordination and conduct of research projects.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

STUDY DESIGN & CONDUCT (INTERMEDIATE):Applies qualitative and quantitative research methods to perform preparatory, regulatory, and analytic tasking within the life cycle of a study.

DATA ANALYSIS (INTERMEDIATE):- The ability to analyze data in an accurate manner.

DATA MANAGEMENT (INTERMEDIATE):Interpreting, analyzing and organizing reports and metrics.

PRESENTATION SKILLS (INTERMEDIATE):- The ability to prepare effective presentations in content and function, able to speak competently to the level of the audience.

RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION (NOVICE):Knowledgeable on all phases in the lifecycle of a sponsored research project. Well versed in and able to assist researchers in reducing compliance risks and assisting in routine and specialized processes.
