Nurse Manager - Pediatric Center & Emergency Care

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a Nurse Manager for our Pediatric Center and Emergent Care to work in our Christiana Hospital. The Nurse Manager will oversee the Pediatric Center and Emergent Care. In this role, the Nurse Manager will be responsible for:
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to adult and geriatric patients, including the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify patient needs.
- Assure compliance with regulatory and professional standards.
- Identify priorities of management responsibilities and demonstrates the ability to delegate.
- Develop and maintain method to ensure patient satisfaction on assigned unit.
- Perform routine patient rounds to establish visibility, teamwork, and monitoring the level of care/practice.
- Remain cognizant of risk management issues and takes appropriate measures to correct.
- Support and communicate Department of Nursing and unit-based PI initiatives.
- Lead nursing practice and care delivery in designated unit.
- Promote the autonomy of the nursing staff, encouraging independent decision making and problem solving.
- Support and maintain shared decision-making on unit.
The Unit
The 24-hour Pediatric Care Center will provide 24/7 combined short-stay inpatient and emergency. The 8,400 square-foot facility will provide seven beds for emergency care and seven beds for short-stay inpatient and observation care. The center will also provide expert care to children and adolescents with behavioral health emergency needs and provide appropriate referral sources for follow-up care.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's required. Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. Master's required within 5 years.
- RN required. BCLS Certification required.
- 5 years appropriate clinical experience in Critical Care or Interventional Procedural Lab area required
- Experience in Interventional lab experience preferred
- Leadership experience required
- Current Professional Certification required
The successful candidate may be eligible for a $20,000 Sign On Bonus.
