Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is seeking talented, energetic and collegial Pediatric Advanced
Practice Providers to join the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R).
The Division of PM&R, a key division within Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix
Children’s, is comprised of an expert team of fellowship-trained pediatric PM&R
Physicians and nurse practitioners who provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care,
allowing children to achieve their optimal level of independence.
The ideal candidates will have a broad base of clinical knowledge and be willing to learn and develop specific skills / knowledge related to neurological and musculoskeletal assessment and management, the inpatient rehabilitation model of care, and longitudinal care and management of patients with disabilities in outpatient clinical setting. Clinical work includes helping to manage inpatient rehab program (12 beds), participation in the inpatient PM&R consult service, staffing outpatient physiatry clinic and other multidisciplinary clinics.
This position works in collaboration with the attending physicians and works within their scope of practice to provide excellent clinical care for patients. Plays a critical role in the patient family medical team. Professional who may practice in hospital’s inpatient and/or outpatient setting.
Education
- Master's or Doctorate degree from an Accreditation Commission for Nursing (ACEN) and/or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited graduate school of nursing in Pediatric Acute care, Pediatric primary care or Family Medicine. (Required)
Certifications
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtained by start date. (Required)
- Current State of Arizona certification as a Nurse Practitioner or obtained by start date. (Required)
- National board certification to match area of education. (Required)
Special Skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication, and basic computer skills. (Required)
