Summary

Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System located in Spartanburg, SC is seeking to hire a FULL TIME BC/BE Fellowship trained Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our team. The Anesthesiologists provide care at 4 facilities, primarily at Spartanburg Medical Center - Church Street (SMC). From Level 1 trauma centers to community hospitals, we treat a variety of complex cases.

• SMC - Church Street campus - Level 1 Trauma Center, 540 Beds
  • 17,500 cases annually, 3,000+ deliveries annually
  • 20 State of the art OR's, 3 Cardiac ORs, 3 EP labs equipped for anesthesia, 3 OB ORs, 6 Endo suites
  • Cardiac volume: 500 + cardiopulmonary bypass cases requiring advanced TEE
    • Mixture of complex and basic hearts
    • Excellent, collaborative surgeons
    • Dedicated CRNAs performing cardiac cases
    • Growing structural heart program that includes TAVR (primarily sedation), MitraClip, ECMO, Impella
    • Busy EP Lab
  • General case mix includes: General, Plastics, OB, Gyn, Urology, Ortho, Vascular, ENT, Trauma, GI, Neuro, Thoracic, Regional Anesthesia and Peds (primarily healthy peds dental, ENT, ophtho and Ortho, with occasional NICU cases). Off-sites include MRI and IR
  • Cardiac Anesthesiologists only take home Cardiac Call
    • Shared equally between members of the cardiac team
    • Fully staffed call 1:6
  • Primarily Medical Direction with goal of 1:2 while performing cardiac anesthesia
    • Future potential to sit some cases
• SMC - Mary Black campus
  • 9 ORs, 5000+ cases annually
  • Nights and weekends home call coverage
  • Medical Direction up to 1:4 with future potential to sit some cases on call
  • Case mix: General, Plastics, Ortho, Ophtho, ENT, Urology, Neuro (no craniotomies), Regional Anesthesia, minimal healthy Peds
  • DNV Hip & Knee Center of Excellence
• PMC - Pelham Medical Center (Greer, SC)
  • 4 ORs, 1 Minor Room, 1 Cath Lab, 1 MRI
  • Case mix includes: Ortho, Spine, Neuro, General, Robotics, GYN, Plastics, Vascular, GI, Maxo-facial, Pain & ENT (68% Ortho & Spine)
  • 2,700 cases annually
  • DNV Hip & Knee Center of Excellence, DNV Spine Center of Excellence
  • US News & World Report #1 in Spine for SC
  • Nights and weekends home call coverage
• CMC - Cherokee Medical Center, Gaffney, SC
  • 5 ORs, 1 MD per day
  • Case mix: General, Gyn, Ortho, GI, Ophtho, Regional Anesthesia, occasional TEEs, healthy Peds
  • No evening or weekend cases; no call requirements
  • Medical Direction up to 1:4
