Northwell Health is recruiting a full-time BE/BC Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Service Line at South Oaks Hospital and the Comprehensive Outpatient Behavioral Services Team. We are seeking a highly motivated practitioner with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills who can work collaboratively with other clinical professionals.
This is a truly unique opportunity to join the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Service Line. The Inpatient Service Line at South Oaks Hospital is a three-unit, inpatient service that provides comprehensive pediatric care for children ages 5-12 and adolescents ages 13-17. Our care team is multidisciplinary consisting of child and adolescent psychiatrists, nurses, pharmacists, psychiatric attendants, social workers, as well as recreational, music and art therapists. The Comprehensive Outpatient Behavioral Service is an outpatient mental health clinic that provides mental health services for children and adolescents from age 5 to 21, dealing with a variety of issues, including anxiety, anger, bullying, depression, self-harm and trauma.
Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, evidence-based treatments including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), development of recommendations for continued care and medical student education. Our team is responsive to the unique needs of children and adolescents and focused on empowering them to manage their symptoms, attain personal goals and function effectively when they re-enter the community.
South Oaks Hospital is a 202-bed behavioral health hospital located on the Nassau/Suffolk border of Long Island.
