LAB/POSITION INFO:
The Vanderbilt MASLAB (Multidisciplinary Approach to the Stratification of Lung cancer using Biomarkers), led by Drs. Grogan and Maldonado, is a multidisciplinary team of lung cancer researchers dedicated to the development of biomarkers aimed at early detection of lung cancer. We need a motivated individual able to consent and recruit patients to study, manage data and collect and store blood specimens. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and offer the best chance of a cure for patients with lung cancer.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following, though we will review all applications:
- Recruit, consent and enroll participants
- Screen patients to determine if they are eligible
- Contact potential participants
- Schedule study appointments
- Consent participants (consent form and other questionnaires)
- Manage follow-up visits
- Perform day-to-day activities associated with research studies
- Place orders
- Record source documentation in medical record and other internal applications
- Enter visit-related data in various internal systems
- Clinical data entry (REDCap database)
- Collect and process specimens and bring them to the bio-repository laboratory
- Draw and process blood
- Collect and process other study-specific samples
- Barcode and store samples

Basic Qualifications

- Prior to advancing to a Clinical/Translational Research Coordinator II, must have completed a Research 101 course such as RSS Boot camp; applicant/new hire must complete a Research 101 course within six (6) months of hire.
