Cook County Health (CCH) is seeking a Chair of the Division of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join an exceptional team serving patients across the greater Chicago area. Under the direction of the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry, the Division Chairman for Child and Adolescent Services will coordinate clinical services and directly manage all staff within his/her assigned service area(s). This Divisional Chairman will oversee divisional psychiatric clinicians, administrators and service contracts within CCH. In addition to administrative duties, this Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric assessment and management of patients with co-morbid medical disease and mental illness, as well as initial psychiatric consultations and subsequent treatment within assigned areas of the CCH. Competitive salary and benefits packages starting at $312,377
Must be a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (DO) from accredited program
Completion of a General Psychiatry residency from an accredited program is required
Completion of a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship from an accredited program is required
Licensed as a physician and a surgeon in the State of Illinois or have the ability to obtain licensure prior to starting employment is required
Valid Illinois and Federal controlled substance license or have the ability to obtain prior to starting employment is required
Must be board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
Must be board-certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from the ABPN
5 or more years of experience providing psychiatric evaluation and treatment to patients is required
5 years of post-residency clinical experience in a complex healthcare environment is required
3 years of administrative and management experience in a multi-faceted psychiatry department is required
Experience providing emergency and inpatient psychiatric consultations to medical ill patients is required
Experience managing services and scheduling is required
Bilingual skills are highly preferred
